Tasmanian Culinary Weekend

Combining distinctive hospitality, exclusive culinary insights and artisan produce sourced direct from the land, the Tasmanian Culinary Weekend treats interstate visitors to a refreshing winter escape. With an emphasis on hearty, homely cuisine, the package includes 3 days and 2 nights in Hobart and its surrounds, showcasing some of Tasmania’s finest first-class restaurants, cafes and wineries, including Hobart’s world-acclaimed Marque IV restaurant. Guests will enjoy award-winning five-star boutique accommodation at the beautiful Islington Hotel. This new weekend offer allows Australian guests to reinvigorate their senses and discover the quality and innovation for which the island state is rapidly becoming internationally renowned.

Winner of the G’day USA promotion

In conjunction with the Islington Hotel and the Priory Lodge in Bothwell, Premier Travel donated in November the prize for the lucky winner of the G’day USA auction held at the Waldorf Astoria in New York earlier this year.  The highest bidder was entitled to four fabulous days of touring and experiencing some of the finest aspects Tasmania has to offer.  The rare sighting of a platypus at Mt Field National Park, the Tasman Island Cruise and lunch at Meadowbank Winery were just some of the highlights combined into this ‘Tasmania by Invitation’ tour.  The auction, held in the name of the Tasmanian Devils, donated all proceeds to the ‘Save the Devil Fund’.

Our Active Participation in Responsible Tourism

Premier Travel Tasmania is actively participating in responsible tourism.

We acknowledge the beauty of our island and are keen to ensure that we make a minimal impact on the environment.

The energy, water usage, and waste from our business are being measured to assess how these can be further reduced to cut greenhouse gas emissions without jeopardising our high level of service.

Through our regional GreenTea Project we successfully participated in the international Green Globe Lite scheme and are proud to have achieved full certification in May 2009.
