Visit the famous geological features of the peninsula as you explore the rugged coastline. In the afternoon, meet Tasmanian’s enigmatic character, the Tasmanian Devil before returning to Hobart.

Mt Field National Park & Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary

Mount Field National Park is the oldest National Park in the state. Take a rainforest walk to Russell Falls, Horseshoe Falls and the Tall Trees. This enchanting walk in Tasmania’s wilderness is accompanied by a delightful Tasmanian picnic lunch. In the afternoon visit Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary to experience Tasmanian Devils, Wombats, Wallabies,Echidnas, Quolls and other Australian animals first hand. This dedicated team of wildlife carers provide an invaluable service to the research and protection of native wildlife in Tasmania. Today, enjoy a scenic drive through the Tamar Valley wine region the heart of northern Tasmania, from the Valley, to Pipers River in the north; through to Launceston and Relbia in the south, there are more than 32 vineyards within driving distance of each other. Cellar door tastings are a specialty of the Tamar Valley – expect to be pampered, surprised and delighted by your visit to the Valley. Your guide will return you to your accommodation by 5pm and bid you farewell.

COLONIAL HERITAGE TOUR (ex Launceston)

Today embark on a heritage journey visiting Brickendon and Woolmers Estate. Brickendon is a historic working farm continuously owned and managed by the Archer family for almost two centuries, while the adjacent Woolmer Estate is a time capsule of early nineteenth century life, home to the National Rose Garden and beautiful in summer. Wander along the convict farm trail between the two properties to see what life in the 1890s was like for the convicts placed here.  Travel through Evandale and visit the gracious Clarendon Homestead, and discover Ross founded in 1812 with its beautiful Georgian styled village.

TROWUNNA WILDLIFE PARK & MARAKOOPA CAVES (ex Launceston)

Today enjoy a scenic drive through the rich farmlands and pastures to the Trowunna Wildlife Park to see Tasmanian Devils, wombats, wallabies and other marsupials. After lunch continue to Karst National Park, for a tour of Marakoopa Cave. Explore this miraculous underground world with its glow worms, large caverns, rim pools and underground streams before returning to Launceston.

STANLEY (ex Burnie)

Enjoy a scenic drive along Tasmania’s north coast to the seaside town of Stanley. Walk the streets of the charming fishing village and visit the historic Highfield House. Towards the sea extends the iconic rocky outcrop known locally as ‘The Nut’. This is the plug of an extinct volcano that you can explore on foot or in a chairlift. From the top there are sweeping views over Bass Strait.

Today head to Cape Grim and enjoy a tour of Woolnorth Wind Farm, Woolnorth Homestead and Cape Grim. Enjoy an up-close visit to the cliff top towers of the Woolnorth Wind Farm and information centre. Visit the historic Woolnorth property homestead and historic precinct, while driving through wonderful dairy lands of the Van Diemen’s Land (VDL) Company. Finally, enjoy a visit to the breath taking Cape Grim where you’ll see the wonderful coastline, breathe the cleanest air in the world, and witness all the islands off the NW coast of Tasmania.
