Your first stop is the Inala Private Nature Reserve, a sanctuary for rare and endangered species. With a specialist guide, explore its diverse habitats on a private walking tour, home to all 12 of Tasmania’s endemic birds. From a specially designed canopy platform, observe one of the largest colonies of the endangered Forty-spotted Pardalote. Keep your eyes skyward—you may spot raptors such as the Wedge-tailed Eagle (Tasmanian subspecies) or the elusive white morph Grey Goshawk. After a lunch in a local restaurant with bay views return to the mainland for a private visit to the Raptor Refuge, Tasmania’s premier raptor rehabilitation centre. On a personal “Walk & Talk” tour, meet some of the island’s most powerful birds—eagles, hawks, falcons, and owls—up close. Explore private bushlands and be stunned about the largest flight aviary in Australia and the southern hemisphere and explore the very informative and interactive education centre.
