Day 1                           ARRIVAL HOBART & MT WELLINGTON / KUNANYI

Welcome to Tasmania! Arrive at Hobart airport and pick up your rental vehicle. Spend the day exploring Tasmania’s capital. Hobart is a quaint city which features many preserved colonial sandstone buildings. Take a scenic drive to the alpine wilderness of Mt Wellington (Kunanyi), the 1270m peak, which provides the dramatic backdrop to the city and offers stunning views (weather dependent). In the evening you might like to venture out to indulge in Tassie’s local produce. Treat yourself to some fresh seafood, visit one of the many local breweries and distilleries or go for a short walk to North Hobart – Tassie’s version of Melbourne’s Lygon Street or Sydney’s King Street. Day 2                   TASMAN PENINSULA – PORT ARTHUR

Enjoy a scenic drive to the Tasman Peninsula where you can visit Port Arthur Historic Site and hear the story of Tasmania’s famous UNESCO world heritage listed convict settlement. The Tasman Peninsula off­ers stunning scenery as well as many interesting geological features, such as Devil’s Kitchen and Tasman Arch. Why not spend the evening visiting Australia’s southern-most whisky distillery?

Day 3                    FREYCINET NATIONAL PARK

Continue your journey to the Freycinet Peninsula with its exceptional beauty, pristine white sandy beaches and granite coastline. There will be ample of time to explore the unsurpassed beauty of the National Park. Take a walk to the famous Wineglass Bay lookout for some amazing photo opportunities. Visit Cape Tourville lighthouse with stunning coastal views or stroll along the pristine Friendly Beaches.

Day 4           FREYCINET PENINSULA – LAUNCESTON – CRADLE MOUNTAIN  

After breakfast travel to Tasmania’s northern capital, Launceston. Upon arrival, you might like to take an easy walk through the beautiful Cataract Gorge where the South Esk River forces its way through sheer rocky cliffs or visit the Tamar Valley Wine region. Continue to UNESCO world heritage listed Cradle Mountain National Park in the afternoon.

Day 5                           CRADLE MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK

Unwind to the harmonic sounds found only in this true wilderness. Today you have ample time to explore the National Park. Dove Lake is a glacial lake located in a spectacular setting beneath the craggy peaks of Cradle Mountain and will surely be one of the highlights of your day. In the evening you might like to “Dine with the Devil” and meet our local icon animal, the Tasmanian Devil and gain insights about the world’s largest carnivorous marsupial

Day 6                    CRADLE MOUNTAIN – LAUNCESTON DEPARTURE
