Fine food, cider and brandy in the Huon Valley

Begin your day with an ascent to the alpine wilderness of Mt Wellington (Kunanyi). The 1270m peak which provides a dramatic backdrop to the city offers stunning vistas over Hobart, the Derwent River and beyond (weather dependent). Continue your journey into the picturesque and fertile lands of the Huon Valley. Visit the first alembic copper still in Australia, purpose-built for making apple brandy. Indulge in a tasting and delicious morning tea. Follow the coastal road into the quaint township of Cygnet which lies between the beautiful D’Entrecasteaux Channel on one side and the majestic Huon river on the other. Enjoy cider tastings and visit other fine providores to sample unique and award-winning cheeses. At a restaurant overlooking the D’Entrecasteaux Channel, partake of local produce for lunch. In the afternoon, taste sumptuous local handmade chocolates before arriving back into Hobart.
