UNDERGROUND AND HIGH UP THE TREES
Your day begins at 08.30 am when your private guide meets you. Travel down the scenic Huon Valley to the town of Hastings, where the stunning Newdegate Caves are. Enjoy a guided underground tour. The magical underground world of Hastings Caves will open your eyes to what lies beneath the picturesque Tasmanian landscape. The mystery of these Tasmanian caves is revealed beneath a dense green forest and ferny glades. The spacious Dolomite cave system is a labyrinth of chambers, richly decorated and cleverly lit to highlight ancient subterranean formations. The cave is the largest Dolomite tourist cave in Australia. Its vast chambers began to form more than 40 million years ago. Continue your journey towards the Tahune forest, where a light lunch is arranged. Then get onto the famous Tahune Airwalk, which is an elevated walkway 30 meters above the forest floor, with the final cantilever section sitting at the height of 50 metres above the Huon River, with spectacular views of the confluence of the Huon and Picton and beyond to the peaks of the World Heritage Area. Look out for the quirky Platypuses at Geevestons’ Platypus Walk before we arrive at the overnight accommodation in the quaint town of Port Huon.

TASTE OF THE HUON
Your journey takes you further into the picturesque and fertile lands of the Huon Valley. Visit the small town of Birch’s Bay, where unique Sheep whey gin and cheeses are created. Indulge in a tasting and delicious morning tea. Follow the coastal road into the quaint township of Cygnet, which lies between the beautiful D’Entrecasteaux Channel on one side and the majestic Huon River on the other. Enjoy lunch at an iconic restaurant overlooking the mighty Huon River. In the afternoon, be indulged in a wine tasting at an award-winning winery before we visit the first alembic copper still in Australia, purpose-built for making apple brandy to Port Huon for the night.

BRUNY ISLAND
This morning, travel to the coastal town of Kettering. Only a short ferry ride from the mainland but a world away, Bruny Island is a peaceful oasis where time seems to standstill. Enjoy a day of stunning scenery and indulge in quality local produce, such as locally created cheese and beer, freshly shucked oysters, chocolate, and honey. Relax at an award-winning winery for a gourmet lunch. Explore Adventure Bay, where Captain Cook set his feet on land and be stunned by spectacular views of roaring coastal swell and beautiful bays. The area abounds with local wildlife, including curious White Wallabies. Return to Hobart, where the tour finishes at approximately 5.00 pm.
