Day 1    

ARRIVAL HOBART – BONORONG

Welcome to Tasmania! Your guide will greet you at Hobart airport to start your Tasmanian adventure. The journey begins with Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, where you will experience Tasmanian Devils, wombats, wallabies, quolls and other Australian animals. The Tasmanian kangaroos at Bonorong are incredibly gentle, so take the delightful opportunity to hand-feed them. This dedicated team of wildlife carers provides an invaluable service to researching and protecting native wildlife in Tasmania. Continue to Hobart and enjoy an introduction to Tasmania’s capital.  Hobart is a quaint city that features many preserved colonial sandstone buildings. The vibrant waterfront and Salamanca Place were once thriving whaling industry hubs.

Day 2              

TASMAN PENINSULA – PORT ARTHUR – FREYCINET

Enjoy a scenic drive to the Tasman Peninsula, where you will visit Port Arthur and hear the story of Tasmania’s famous UNESCO World Heritage-listed convict settlement. Set in tranquil gardens, Tasmania’s famous convict settlement harbours a dark history that our experienced guide will bring to life. The Tasman Peninsula offers stunning scenery as well as many interesting geological features, such as Devil’s Kitchen and Tasman Arch. Relax and enjoy a scenic drive along Tasmania’s East Coast to the Freycinet Peninsula with its exceptional beauty, pristine white sandy beaches, and granite coastline.

Day 3                          

FREYCINET NATIONAL PARK

Today, there will be time to explore the unsurpassed beauty of the Freycinet Peninsula. Walk the track up to the world-famous Wineglass Bay lookout for some amazing photo opportunities, with views across the Freycinet National Park. Visit Cape Tourville lighthouse with its stunning coastal views, and stroll along the pristine Friendly Beaches.

Day 4            

FREYCINET PENINSULA – CRADLE MOUNTAIN NP

After breakfast, leave the Freycinet and travel towards the stunning Mole Creek Karst National Park. Be invited to an Underground Rivers and Glow-worm tour within the Marakoopa Caves system. Then, continue your journey through lush rolling farm pastures before reaching the alpine bush and the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Cradle Mountain National Park. Experience Tasmania’s natural treasure and the beauty of this ancient landscape.

Day 5

CRADLE MOUNTAIN – DOVE LAKE – LAUNCESTON

On a clear day, the rugged grandeur of Cradle Mountain is reflected in the tranquil waters of Dove Lake, or you may experience the drama of its craggy peaks through swirling mist.

This morning’s activity is a bushwalk in the National Park on the Dove Lake Circuit (2.5 hrs), where you will immerse yourself in the beauty of this majestic setting (weather-dependent). Learn about native flora and fauna along the way, with highlights including the ballroom forest and lakeside beaches. After lunch, return to Launceston, where your guide will introduce you to a short city tour and the Cataract Gorge. The Tour ends at approximately 3.30 pm at Launceston airport or your accommodation.
