Today enjoy a scenic drive through the Tamar Valley wine region which is Tasmania’s oldest wine growing area. The Tamar River which is Australia’s longest tidal navigable river is the heart of this wine district. From the Valley, to Pipers River in the north; through to Launceston and Relbia to the south, there are more than 32 vineyards within driving distance of each other. The area with its pure soil and air produces premium cool-climate wines such as Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and sparkling wines. Cellar door tastings are a specialty of the Tamar Valley. Expect to be pampered, surprised and delighted by your visit to the Valley. Your guide will return you to your accommodation by 5pm and bid you farewell
