TASMANIA GOLF CLUB – COAL RIVER VALLEY

This morning, we will play 9-hole round at the spectacular Tasmanian Golf Club in Midway Point. Your tour guide will transfer you to the T-point and arrange all the gear, golf clubs and buggies for you. The course could best be described as a typical Australian golf course set on a spectacular headland that exposes the golf course to the best and worst of the elements.  The result is a challenging and undulating course characterised by well bunkered,

breaking greens that reward well-thought-out approach shots. Lunch will be served at an award-winning winery in the Coal River Valley, followed by a visit to Richmond and another 1 or 2 wine tastings en route.

Day 4

HOBART – LAUNCESTON

Today we give you a break from putting and walking the greens and travel straight to Relbia, a few kilometres south of Launceston. The state-of-the-art winery Josef Chromy is in the estate’s original 1880 homestead. Go behind the scenes and learn the traditional method of making sparkling wine. During this unique experience, indulge in tastings and work with the winemaking team in the laboratory. Choose and add liquor to produce a bottle of sparkling to your own taste to enjoy on the day. Conclude this experience with a lunch with matched wine. Visit the scenic Cataract Gorge, where the Tamar River forces its way through sheer rocky cliffs, before you arrive at your accommodation for tonight.

Day 5

COUNTRY CLUB TASMANIA – BARNBOUGLE

Country Club’s nine and 18-hole championship golf course is recognised as one of Tasmania’s finest original links. Country Club Tasmania boasts an international standard 18-hole golf course in Launceston, originally designed and built as part of the property in 1982 by world-famous golfers and course designers Mike Wolveridge and Peter Thomson. A typical Thomson/ Wolveridge design with a mixture of links and parkland styling, features include large challenging fairways, water hazards and fast greens. The 18-hole course has grown to be one of the best golf courses in Tasmania and is meticulously maintained by our team of greenkeepers. After lunch, travel through the picturesque wine region of the Tamar Valley before you arrive at Tasmania’s rugged North Coast.

The elder of the two courses, The Dunes, is a spectacular example of traditional Link golf. Why not take a course tour to become acquainted with this beautiful landscape? There are practice facilities to get you warmed up, and if you want to get serious, perfect your driving, putting and chipping skills under one of our teaching professionals. The stunning Dunes Clubhouse sits overlooking Barnbougle’s pristine beach – where you can wind down between and after games with a refreshing drink and a hearty meal.
